Automation is your friend on the net
By Jobo Smith
Everyone wants to be top dog on Google search - if your site is in the top 3 you get 70% of the clicks for that search term. The only way to get there for most terms is to learn to use some automation tools to assist you. Now a lot of people think that its wrong to do that. However, think about this: Google is probably the single largest user and creator of automated tools in the world, there is no way they can track trillions of bits of data without automated bots and other tools to do all the work for them. Of course they do not want you to use them, they think everyone else should do everything by hand. There is nothing wrong with article submission by hand, but in order to get headway in the rankings you would probably have to submit 20 articles a day to various sites just for a single keyword. It becomes a massive time sink. There are hundreds and hundreds of article directory sites, not to mention social bookmarking, and other web 2.0 sites like Hub Pages, Squidoo and Ning. Big companies use tools and teams of people to get ranked for hundreds, and sometimes thousands of keywords. The only way to compete is to get some help. Either you pay to outsource some of the work, or you pay for some tools to automate submissions and account openings. You cannot simply just open 1 account and submit all your articles to the same account. If you are trying to rank for the term "pet sitting in New York" for example, and you submit 20 articles to a single account all with that keyword in the article with the URL link back to your website, Google will discount the link value because you have 20 articles all doing the same thing. If you have 20 accounts each with 1 article, that is 10x better as far as rankings go. Hence the need for tools to help manage time. You can reuse accounts for different URL's but in general loading up a single account even at something like Ezine Articles with 20,30 or more articles pointing to the same URL is almost a waste of time. It comes down to getting the most bang for the time invested in the work. I am not talking about using tools to spam, that is stupid and does not work either. I am saying it pays to use tools to help save time and get ranked faster. You are still the one writing the articles or creating the content, but the mundane task of opening accounts and submissions is handled with a bit of automation. Additionally, without tools it becomes next to impossible to remember all the sites you have accounts at, passwords, and what you have already done at that site. |
